FBANC Congratulates Benjamin T. Reyes II on His Appointment to the Contra Costa County Superior Court

The Filipino Bar Association of Northern California (FBANC) congratulates Benjamin T. Reyes II on his historic appointment to the Contra Costa County Superior Court.  Ben will be the first ever Filipino-American Judge to serve on the Contra Costa County bench and the second Filipino-American Judge to serve in the nine San Francisco Bay Area counties.  California Governor Edmund G. Brown made the announcement on May 22, 2017.

Ben is a leader and community servant in the Bay Area legal community.  He is a longtime supporter, former Vice-President and current advisory Board member of FBANC.  He built a solid public agency practice at the law firm Meyers Nave and is one of the few Filipino-American attorneys in an equity shareholder position at a statewide law firm.  He is also one of the first Filipino-Americans appointed by elected officials to serve as City Attorney, serving as City Attorney for Pinole for the past 12 years and as City Attorney for Union City for the past 6 years.  The child of Filipino-American immigrants and public servants, Ben’s accomplishments and contributions exemplify an immigrant family’s contribution to our great State.  He will be a tremendous addition to the bench.

FBANC applauds Governor Brown for appointing Ben to the Contra Costa County Superior Court.
