LOOKING FOR PARTICIPANTS: Focus Groups in San Francisco for ABA Initiative “Achieving Long-Term Careers for Women in Law”

The American Bar Association (ABA) and the American Bar Foundation (ABF) are conducting a collaborative research project as part of the ABA Presidential Initiative entitled “Achieving Long-Term Careers for Women in Law.” This research project aims to understand the unique career dynamics facing women lawyers who have practiced for at least 15 years, and to identify key personal and structural factors that foster and/or impede their careers.

On March 22nd and 23rd of 2018, the ABA and ABF will convene five focus groups in San Francisco of women and men who received their JDs between 1982 and 2002:

1) Women who are currently practicing law in firms and have practiced for 15 or more years.

2) Women who are currently practicing law in-house and have practiced for 15 or more years.

3) Women who are no longer practicing law after 15 or more years of practice.

4) Men who are currently practicing law in firms and have practiced for 15 or more years.

5) Men who are no longer practicing law after 15 or more years of practice.
