Congratulations to Pinay Powerhouse 2 Conference Scholarship Recipient Erica Chu

FBANC Women's Committee and Professional Development Committee are excited to award the Pinay Powerhouse 2 Conference Scholarship to Erica Chu.

Erica described Pinay Powerhouse Conferece as "more than just a networking event; it's a sisterhood" and an "opportunity to meet fellow revolutionaries in the legal profession." Congratulations Erica!

Erica is is a law clerk at Pier 5 Law in San Francisco, CA. She received her B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Irvine, and her J.D. from Golden Gate University with specializations in Litigation and Public Interest. During law school, she founded the Criminal Law Society, served as the vice-president of the Pilipino American Law Society (PALS), and competed on the National Trial Team. Erica is currently awaiting her February 2018 CA bar exam results.

In 2016, Erica became the recipient of the FBANC Nassiri and Jung Public Interest Scholarship. That same year, she volunteered for the first Pinay Power House Conference. In 2017, Erica became Golden Gate University’s Judge Lee D. Baxter Graduate Fellow in Litigation, where she organized and hosted a National Mock Trial Competition in San Francisco and Sonoma, CA.

Thanks to the generosity of FBANC President Lorna Garcia and FBANC Advisory Board Members/Past Presidents Vanessa Candelaria, Christine Start, Billy Chan and Mark Punzalan, FBANC Women's Committee and Professional Development Committee were able to offer conference registrations to all of our Pinay Powerhouse 2 Scholarship applicants. We are so grateful for your commitment to empowering our sisters!
