All current law students, graduates awaiting their bar results, and public interest attorneys with financial need are encouraged to apply for the Foundation of the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California (FBANC Foundation) NAPABA Convention Scholarship. This year, the FBANC Foundation, with the assistance of Vanessa Candelaria and Lorna Garcia de Guzman, will sponsor a $500 scholarship to one individual who has demonstrated a commitment to public interest and/or Asian Pacific American issues. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage and make it easier for individuals to participate in the NAPABA convention in Austin, TX while maintaining their commitment of service to communities in need. The scholarship will be announced no later than ‪October 11, 2019‬.

Candidates will be judged on their ability to address the questions presented thoughtfully and concisely, their persuasiveness, and their demonstrated interest in issues affecting the Filipino-American community, Asian Pacific American community and any other underserved community. The FBANC Foundation Scholarship Committee may conduct interviews for finalists as necessary.
