We have a lot to celebrate. The 2011-2012 year has been especially productive for FBANC. We held several free legal clinics in areas with large populations of Filipinos/Filipino-Americans, including Daly City, Union City, Alameda and the Mission District in San Francisco. We also formed FBANC’s first ever Advisory Board comprised of FBANC Hall of Famers who will meet bi-annually to discuss issues facing the Filipino-American legal community and provide insight to the executive board.
With the help of Raymond L. Ocampo, Jr. and generous donations from our FBANC supporters, we doubled the total amount of our law student scholarships from $5,000 to $10,000. In addition, we reached into the pipeline by (1) co-sponsoring events such as Legally Asian, a conference aimed at encouraging Asian American high school and college students to pursue a law degree and (2) actively involving Filipino-American college and law students at our events.
FBANC’s efforts towards professional development, networking, advocacy, diversity, and student scholarships are made possible by the support of its sponsors.
