Setting up a solo practice is a high-stakes gambit that's often fraught with potential for failure. Yet many who have succeeded (through both diligence and creativity) say they wouldn't have it any other way.  A panel of four local Filipino-American lawyers who've set up their own shops will tell us how they make their practices work.  Come find out what it takes to make it on the alternate path and hit the high notes in solo practice these days.

We will hear the success stories of three different attorneys – Carmen Ekstrom, Richard Tamor, and Raymond Robles. They arrived at the solo life from varied backgrounds but they have two distinctive things in common:  they love going at it alone, and they're forthcoming in offering advice to FBANC members and guests who might be flirting with the idea. Come and learn about the trials and joys of Hanging Your Own Shingle!

Please RSVP with Ben Uy at Benjamin.Uy@pillsburylaw.com.

FBANC Annual Picnic

Saturday, September 28, 2013

Golden Gate Park, Lindley Meadow, Table 5

San Francisco, CA

11:00 am – 5:00 pm

Please mark your calendars for the highly anticipated FBANC Annual Picnic at Golden Gate Park's Lindley Meadow where you and your family are all invited to frolic in the sun. Last year, we had an incredible turnout of over 50 smiling attendees.

The Summer Picnic will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Golden Gate Park's Lindley Meadow is a sprawling and private alcove, and there should be plenty of parking, picnic tables, restrooms, and a sizzling grill. This event is free but will be a "pot luck" type picnic so we encourage everyone to bring a small contribution of food or drink to share.  Beer and wine are allowed as long as glass is not used.  We will be grilling up hamburgers and hot dogs, but feel free to bring anything else you'd like to toss on the grill.  Don't forget to bring your footballs, frisbees, mahjong sets, bocce balls, and rugby balls!

Please RSVP with Ben Uy at benjamin.uy@pillsburylaw.com. We look forward to seeing you there!
