Filipino WWII Veterans Parole Program Continues!

October 1, 2021

Earlier this week, President Biden announced that the Filipino WWII Veterans Parole Program will continue! In early February 2021, FBANC urged members and the community to submit public comment against its proposed termination by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). We dispersed sample language for public comment.

Out of the 122 submissions for public comment, 68 individuals/organizations (56% of all submissions) used FBANC's template language, including AFL-CLO, the National Network for Immigrant & Refugee Rights, the Pilipino Workers Center of Southern California, Filipino Advocates for Justice, and the Pacific Rim Heritage Foundation.

USCIS is now accepting new FWVP Program applications. Please see more information here.

Thank you so much for your support in helping save this program. Your actions truly honor our history and our community's contributions to this country. Happy Filipino/a/x American History Month!

Watch FBANC 2020-2021 Secretary Nelson Lam (current Vice-President) speak with Balitang America to rally community support to save the parole program. Aired February 19, 2021
