Community Outreach Committee & Legal Clinics

 

This Committee supports the Filipina/x/o American and historically disenfranchised communities in the SF Bay Area, with two focus areas. First, FBANC administers the William R. Tamayo Community Grant program, which offers financial support for community organizations. Second, FBANC participates in and/or offers legal clinics, often partnering with community-based organizations to learn and help with community needs.

2026 WILLIAM R. TAMAYO COMMUNITY GRANT

In spring 2026, FBANC offered the WILLIAM R. TAMAYO COMMUNITY GRANT in the amount of $5,500 to a community non-profit organization operating in Northern California. The grant’s purpose is to fund a particular cause or project dedicated to serving the Filipino and/or Filipinx American community.

Legal Clinics

FBANC holds legal clinics with local organizations including but not limited to PAWIS, Legal Access Alameda, APILO and Asian Americans Advancing Justice - ALC.

FBANC members regularly put on presentations to provide legal resources for local organizations. Contact us if you would like us to present to your organization.

Resources and Guides

In response to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, FBANC has created a resource guide to assist community know about their rights and benefits during this difficult time (last updated March 20, 2020).

FBANC also created an Anti-Asian Hate Action Guide and Resources in response to the surge of Anti-Asian Hate incidents and crimes (last updated on 4/22/2021)

Co-Sponsorships
