Pro Bono Opportunity | Legal Services for Entrepreneurs (LSE) Virtual Legal Clinic
LCCRSF-FBANC Pro Bono Legal Clinic for Immigrant-Owned Small Businesses

Limited scope opportunity for volunteer attorneys on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 3:30pm - 6:30pm

The LCCRSF-FBANC pro bono clinic in November is part of a month-long series of legal offerings aimed at celebrating National Immigrants Day (Oct 28) by removing barriers to accessing legal services for undocumented individuals and other immigrants without permanent status who want to start or develop businesses.

LSE seeks to recruit attorneys who can offer immigrant-owned small businesses one-hour consultations in the following issue areas:

·         review and draft contracts,

·         review commercial leases,

·         entity formation,

·         tax law,

·         business immigration law,

·         employment law, and

·         intellectual property law.

Pro bono attorneys are assigned one to two clients and provide one-hour consultations for the client's legal matter. The attorneys can provide the consultation alone or work in pairs. Attorneys receive their client assignments along with relevant information and documents pertaining to the client's legal matter a couple of days before the clinic date. Interpreters will be available for the client consultations.

The LCCRSF-FBANC clinic will be on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 3:30pm - 6:30pm.

We would greatly appreciate it if you would forward this information to your contacts who may meet the above criteria, or if you would volunteer yourselves.  We are hoping to get about 7 or 8 volunteers.

This is a great opportunity to help our immigrant community members in their businesses.  It's also a great opportunity for you and/or your colleagues to gain visibility as attorneys who practice these areas of law and who graciously donate their time to those in need.

If you are interested, please contact Glicel (glicelsumagaysay@fbanc.org) or Will (williamwalraven@fbanc.org) at your earliest convenience, and within the next week if possible.  Please ask your colleagues to do the same.

We hope we can count you in to help make an impact with these community members, their dream businesses, and livelihoods!
