My name is Alyssa V. Daatio and I am running for Co-Director of Community Outreach. I am an Associate at Aaron, Riechert, Carpol, and Riffle, APC and I practice in the areas of Estate Planning, Trusts, Estates, Conservatorships, and Guardianships. I am looking forward to the possibility of continuing my role as Co-Director of Community Outreach for a third year.
I graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2019 and was awarded the 2019 Pursuit of Justice Award, given to a graduating student who has demonstrated a commitment to providing service to others in the pursuit of justice through legal experience, community and volunteer service, and service to the law school and other law students.
While in law school, I worked with several Bay Area non-profit organizations on litigation matters and Know Your Rights presentations. In 2017, I was awarded the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley’s Asian Law Alliance Fellow Scholarship for my commitment to serving the immigrant community in the Silicon Valley. Through my experiences working with various non-profit organizations, I quickly discovered the significance of building trust with community organizations and partners. Through building trust, legal professionals and community organizations can actively work on creative solutions to support each other, in conjunction with the law. With that in mind, building trust with community organizations takes time and dedication.
If elected, I would like to continue expanding on the work my previous Co-Directors and I have started. I hope to continue strengthening FBANC’s relationships with current community partners by continuing to meet with them individually to survey their needs. I hope to engage in various conversations with community partners to discuss ways FBANC can support its goals and mission outside of the legal arena. I hope to continue collaborating with community partners and form lasting partnerships.
FBANC has provided me with a unique opportunity to continue developing my leadership skills while maintaining connections with non-profit organizations that serve the greater Filipinx community in the Bay Area. I would love the opportunity to continue serving the community in this role. Thank you!
