Candidate for Director:
Chloe Ramos Czabaranek
Mabuhay at kamusta! My name is Chloe Ramos Czabaranek and I hope to continue to serve as FBANC’s Legal Clinics Co-Director for the 2022-2023 term. During my time on the FBANC board, I planned alongside my co-director, Melani, the Small Business Legal Clinic partnered with the Lawyer's Committee for Civil Rights of San Francisco’s Legal Services for Entrepreneurs, and the Volunteer Appreciation Event during the Homecoming 2021 Holiday Party. Although we were able to accomplish many goals in this term, there is much more to do in helping serve the community.
My goals as FBANC Legal Clinics Co-Director would be to continue to serve alongside the Bay Area Legal Non-Profit community to be connected with our community, to give proper legal advice, and to help those most marginalized. Aside from continuing our strong programing, I believe that we would also need to look inward to make sure our clinics are receiving: 1) proper mentorship and skills for the law student volunteers; 2) relevant areas of law where our communities need help; 3) new community partnerships to reach out to folks we have yet to serve; and 4) a structure that allows for non-profit legal service organizations, volunteering attorneys and law students to successfully volunteer whether virtual or in-person.
I am thankful for the resources and the community that FBANC provides, and amdedicated to helping FBANC continue to succeed in supporting the larger Filipinxcommunity. I hope to help FBANC continue its response to community needs that allows for longevity in our fostered relationships and connections with community partners.
