Idrian Mollaneda
Hello FBANC members!
I am Idrian Mollaneda, a first year associate at Farella Braun + Martel LLP. I am running for social director of FBANC. Since my first year of law school, FBANC has played a pivotal role in my development as a young legal professional. I attended every FBANC event that I could, to expose myself to Filipinx legal community in my new home. In a full-circle moment, I now write to that community in the hope that it will allow me to serve you as social director on the FBANC board.
As a very social creature, I am drawn to the social director position because I want to facilitate fun and impactful social events and networking opportunities for law students and legal professionals. My goal is to give our members experiences that they will remember fondly for years to come, as I have come to look back fondly on the many FBANC events I’ve attended since my 1L year.
I hope to harness FBANC’s robust resources and membership to cultivate and maintain a resilient, well-connected Bay Area Filipinx legal community. I am especially well-positioned to do this as someone with great familiarity with FBANC’s traditions and events, such as the annual picnic, gala, and holiday party. My natural knack for event planning is evidenced by my leadership as the chair of two affinity organizations in law school (Queer Caucus and PALS), in which I planned and executed numerous schoolwide events. I also have direct experience coordinating large scale FBANC events from when I was a law student member of the team that delivered the first Komunidad.
