Jamie Martinez
My name is Jamie Martinez, and I am declaring my candidacy for FBANC Mentorship Director. I am asking you for your support and vote as a member of FBANC 43’s Board as a Mentorship Director. I have served on FBANC’s Board over the past two years as its Operations Director.
In my previous role, it was my job to keep as many people informed of the various legal issues within our community, as well as FBANC events. As FBANC's Mentorship Director, my goal is to continue FBANC’s success with its relationships with law students/schools throughout Northern California.
My goal as FBANC’s Mentorship Director is to build on the success of Komunidad and FBANC’s Mentorship program. These are the sort of events that continue to build the pipeline of future lawyers that continue to serve our community and can inspire a future generation of Filipinx lawyers. As attorneys, it is important to provide and emphasize mentorship opportunities for law students. It is important that we reinforce that lawyers can be in the highest legal positions of their fields, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc.
If elected, I look forward to continuing the work of past Mentorship Directors and joining the 2023-2024 FBANC Board. Thank you for your time and I hope to have your vote for this upcoming election. Thank you for your consideration.
