Candidate for Director:

Jorgio Castro

My simple statement: I plan to work to maintain FBANC events as we continue our transition back from a principally remote professional environment to greater in-person meetings and events. Having previously served on the FBANC board for 3 years as Legal Clinics Co-Director and last year as Community Outreach Co-Director, I have knowledge of historical board, director, and organizational practices and procedures. I will bring those to the FBANC Board table as Operations Co-Director to help the 2023-2024 FBANC board execute a great year.

My principal driving goal: to ensure FBANC continues its tradition of supporting the Filipino/a/x  community in the Bay Area, especially immigrant and low-income communities and first-generation lawyers and law school students. I will focus on following the execution of current directors Jaime Martinez and Riane Briones and their committee members. We will  focus on delivering the FBANC experience for our membership and community as we re-engage and re-calibrate for the future under President Nelson Pineda Lam. Cheers to FBANC 43!
