My name is Mika Domingo. I’m a trusts and estates litigator, former Deputy Attorney General, entrepreneur, diversity advocate, and community leader.
I am humbled and honored to declare my intention to run for the FBANC Professional Development Co-Director Position. In this role, I will work with my Co-Director in meeting the needs of our members by designing professional programs, including MCLE programs, best practices in a variety of areas, and seminars on professional growth. Specifically, I would like to launch an FBANC “Boot Camp” to help our members with core skills training such as “Basic Litigation Skills”, “Brief Writing”, and “Effective Negotiations,” to name a few.
As Co-Director of Professional Development, I will coordinate with other bar and professional organizations, and determine what current topics and issues in today’s practice are most relevant and helpful to our members. Exchanging ideas with other leaders will not only help us build skills, but also expand our outreach and deepen our relationship with others.
As Co-Directors, we must examine every facet of our operations, and work more efficiently and collaboratively. Having worked in both non-profit and private sectors as an attorney, and having served on numerous leadership roles for the past twenty-five years, and more recently, as a Committee of Bar Examiner for the State of California, Past President of the Contra Costa County Bar Association (CCCBA) Women’s Section, CCCBA Executive Committee, Past Chair of CCCBA’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, and as President of California Women Lawyers, I bring experience, passion, sound judgment, ability to listen, think strategically, and implement tactically to this Board and ask for you to allow me to serve.
