Director, Legal Clinics: Danielle Eden Castro Silva

I am honored to be considered for the position of FBANC Legal Clinics Director.

As someone with experience providing pro bono legal services, I aim to facilitate at least 1 legal clinic every 3 months and ensure at least one clinic is held virtually to provide accessibility for volunteers and community members seeking pro bono assistance.  As FBANC Legal Clinics Director, I will maintain the history of collaboration FBANC has established with previous community partners and law firms while also utilizing FBANC resources to provide support to pre-existing clinics and increase pro bono services in Bay Area counties with historically less accessibility to legal assistance.  I also plan to further develop the volunteer base for FBANC legal clinics by establishing monthly, consistent, and open communication with legal volunteers regarding availability. Finally, I aim to establish a culture and pathway for encouraging the practice of pro bono work for attorneys and law students alike.

As FBANC Legal Clinics Director, my goal for the clinics division of FBANC is to prioritize accessibility and connection. Many organizations are leading the charge to legal accessibility, and FBANC is an organization that can provide support through manpower and the diverse legal expertise and skills our members have to offer. I hope to continue developing the clinics to represent both the needs of the community and the desire of the FBANC family to give back and be the change we wish to see in the world.
