FBANC Foundation Treasurer/Officer-at-Large: Angelica Leonardo
Hi, my name is Angelica Leonardo and I hope to serve as Director at Large/Foundation Treasurer for FBANC’s 43rd year. My longstanding involvement with FBANC has prepared me for the role of Director at Large/Foundation Treasurer. As a law student, I volunteered for FBANC’s legal clinics and events, emceed an FBANC gala and received an FBANC Legal Scholarship.
I have previously served on FBANC board as Mentorship Director for two years, Membership Director, Secretary, and this year as Vice President. As Mentorship Director, I was responsible for the law student scholarship selection process which is now one of the responsibilities of the Director at Large/Foundation Treasurer. As Secretary, I participated in the law student scholarship selection process and this year as Vice President, I am working with the current Director at Large/Foundation Treasurer in organizing the law student scholarship selection process. As Vice President, I led the initiative in creating the recently launched Bayanihan Stipend, a need base stipend for FBANC law students and recent law graduates and am serving as Co-Director for the Bayanihan Stipend Committee. As a member of the executive board, I have assisted in other projects such as the NAPABA Convention Stipend and have served on various committees, including the Judiciary Committee and the Awards and Endorsements Committee.
As Director at Large/Foundation Treasurer, I aim to maintain relationships with our generous scholarship donors and past scholarship recipients. To do this, I plan to identify and reach out to past scholarship recipients with the hope of reconnecting and getting updates on their career. I hope to provide these updates to our scholarship donors. I will continue to seek out opportunities to fundraise for our current FBANC scholarships and/or future scholarships. I will also continue to work with the rest of the FBANC board and our law students to identify what other support FBANC could provide to our law students and determine concrete steps on how FBANC can provide that support. As a member of the executive board, I will continue to provide support to the rest of the executive board and to our directors as needed.
