Candidate for Treasurer:

Leoangelo Cristobal

My name is Leo Cristobal (he/him), and I submit my candidacy for the position of Treasurer for the 2022-2023 FBANC Board.

I have been an active member of FBANC – first as a law student and former PALS president, then as a practicing attorney – since 2013. I have received the Raymond L. Ocampo, Jr. Family Scholarship and have served on the FBANC board for multiple years as a co-director of Mentorship and most recently on the executive board as the Treasurer. I remain committed to serving my community and would like to continue in my leadership role on FBANC’s executive board.

As the FBANC Treasurer, my primary goal remains the same: provide clarity and transparency to the Board as it relates to our budget and overall accounting processes. Using my tax and accounting experience in both the private and public sectors, I will maintain accurate records of all FBANC transactions for purposes of tax and financial reporting. I will also continue to collaborate closely with the FBANC Foundation Treasurer and continue to make myself available for any Board Member’s budget-related questions.

My secondary goal is to create an administrative succession plan that will put future Treasurers in a position to succeed. Using my previous experience as Treasurer, I will identify the position’s most difficult responsibilities and create a blueprint that any FBANC Treasurer – regardless of previous financial or accounting experience – can use to successfully fulfill their duties.

Finally, my tertiary goal is to continue to bring compassion, levity, and empathy to the FBANC Board and its members. My prior work with the newer members and my close ties to the more senior members will continue to bridge the experiences of the Board Members with each other. The past few years have been challenging for everyone, and I believe that my overall familiarity with both the FBANC Board and the greater FBANC membership will help galvanize and unify our community this upcoming year.
