Director Glicel Sumagaysay

As the owner of Law Office of Glicel Sumagaysay, an Employment Law Firm, Glicel Sumagaysay (She/Her) represents private, public and federal workers in pre-litigation and litigation claims for wrongful termination; whistleblower retaliation; disability, race, gender and other discrimination; harassment; wage theft; and other wage claims. Additionally, Glicel helps small businesses prevent employment law violations by advising them regarding all stages of worker engagement.

Glicel is a member of the California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA), and its Elimination of Bias in the Judiciary committee. Glicel also serves as Vice Chair of CELA’s Worker Outreach committee, where she co-leads the committee in providing Know Your Rights videos and programs to educate workers about their employment rights. As Vice Chair and subsequently, Chair of the Alameda County Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section Executive Committee, Glicel helped the committee create continuing education programs for employment attorneys.

As a member of the Asian Pacific American Women Lawyers’ Alliance (APAWLA) and its Civic Engagement Committee, Glicel works on addressing issues affecting AAPI women attorneys. Finally, Glicel is proud to be an incoming Director for the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California and hopes to create collaborative programs and events across all the organizations she serves.
