Director Jorgio Castro

Jorgio Castro is currently a Senior Staff Attorney at Bay Area Legal Aid, and focuses his practice on Social Security disability law, assisting hundreds of people with major mental and physical health conditions through the Social Security Administrative process and federal district court. Jorgio is a 2015 cum laude graduate of UC College of the Law San Francisco (formerly Hastings), where he focused on the intersection of health care and the law, and published two scholarly research articles on mental health and the law. He was a member of the Law Review, student government, the board of the La Raza Law Students Association, and External Vice President of the Pilipino American Law Students. He served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Susan Y. Illston in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

Jorgio attended UCLA and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science - International Relations. He was born and raised in San Francisco, roots for the Giants and Warriors always, and loves rescue dogs and his current dog Chi. He also competes in poker tournaments around California and Nevada.
