Herstorian Angelica Leonardo

Angelica Leonardo is a Deputy Alternate Public Defender at the Alternate Public Defender’s Office in Solano County where she represents clients charged with felonies. Angelica has been involved with FBANC since law school. She received an FBANC scholarship in 2012 and co-emceed the FBANC gala in 2013. She has previously served on FBANC board as co-director of mentorship, membership, secretary, vice president and most recently as director at large/Foundation treasurer.

Angelica is a member of her office’s Racial Justice Committee and serves as a mentor for the Jesse Bethel High School Law Academy in Vallejo. She continues to be on the board of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Solano County and previously served as president. She is also a board member of the Asian American Criminal Trial Lawyers Association. Angelica was a member of the inaugural public interest class of the Leadership Education for Attorney Development (LEAD) program hosted by the California Asian Pacific American Bar Association (Cal-APABA).

Angelica earned her undergraduate degree from UC Davis where she was involved with the Filipinx community on campus as a board member of the Filipinx student organization, Mga Kapatid and served as Student Director of Bridge: Pilipinx Outreach and Retention Program. Angelica is a graduate of Golden Gate University School of Law where she was co-founder of Pilipinx American Law Society (PALS) and Connect: a pre-orientation program for incoming 1Ls from underserved backgrounds. She was part of the moot court board and the litigation program where she competed in mock trial competitions.
