Michael Barreiro - The Raymond L. Ocampo, Jr. Family Scholarship Recipient
Michael Barreiro is a graduating (3L) student at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly known as UC Hastings). In law school, Michael served as the President of the Pilipinx American Law Society (PALS) from 2024-2025, competed as a member of the UC Law SF Moot Court team, and was a member of the UC Law Constitutional Law Quarterly Journal.
Born, raised and college-educated in the Philippines, Michael moved to the San Francisco Bay area prior to law school. After law school, Michael hopes to work for the government and serve the community through practicing in the field of criminal law. He hopes to fight for justice, represent the community and victims of crime, and advocate for criminal justice reforms. During his free time, Michael plays basketball in Daly City, loves hiking, explores local spots around the Bay, and cheers for the San Francisco Bay Area sports teams, particularly the Golden State Warriors and San Francisco 49ers!
About the Scholarship: The Raymond L. Ocampo, Jr. Family Scholarship, made possible by the generosity of FBANC founding member and past FBANC president Raymond Ocampo, Jr., is awarded in memory of Mr. Ocampo’s parents and in honor of immigrants like them, for the sacrifices they made and the hardships they endured in search of a better life for their families.
