President-Elect Maribeth Charvet
Maribeth Charvet (she/her) is the Attorney Development Manager for all Business Law junior associates across Goodwin Procter LLP's Northern California offices. In this role, she is responsible for managing workloads, individualized professional development, and performance evaluations. Maribeth also supports firm-wide initiatives on diversity, equity + inclusion, attorney development, engagement, and retention. She was previously a Senior Associate in Goodwin’s Technology practice, with a focus on representing emerging technology companies throughout the entire corporate lifecycle and venture capital funds, and also served as a local leader of the firm’s Committee for Racial and Ethnic Diversity and a member of the Hiring Committee. Prior to Goodwin, Maribeth was a Corporate Associate at Shartsis Friese LLP in San Francisco, and an Associate in the Global Transactions group at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer US LLP in New York City.
Maribeth is a proud “Double Bear,” having earned her B.A. in Legal Studies and Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley, and her J.D. from UC Berkeley, School of Law. While in law school, Maribeth served as the inaugural Senior Diversity Editor of the California Law Review, Co-President of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, and a Certified Clean Slate Advocate at the East Bay Community Law Center. At UC Berkeley, Maribeth served as a director of the Pilipinx Academic Student Services, leading Pil-Grad and facilitating the Pilipinx American Student Orientation program.
Maribeth has served on the FBANC Board since 2019. She has previously served as Co-Director of Professional Development, Co-Director of Mentorship, Foundation Treasurer/Officer-at-Large, Secretary, and Co-Chair of the Women’s Committee.
