WHAT DOES THE FBANC BOARD OF DIRECTORS DO?

Each year, FBANC puts on programming to serve our Fil-Am legal community.  Examples:

  • We often hold a picnic during the fall.

  • We throw a holiday party each December.

  • We run a mentorship program that pairs attorney mentors with law students.

  • We administer a scholarship program that raises funds and awards scholarships to law students.

  • We put on professional developments like CLE sessions and networking events / dinners.

FBANC Directors lead on the various programming initiatives.  Committees often have two co-chairs, plus additional members.

  • Some committees are mostly events-based

    • For example, if a committee is tasked with putting on a CLE professional development event, the committee will reserve a space, find speakers, promote the event online via email and social media, and generally run the event.

  • Other committees are less focused on running events

    • For example, some committees handle tasks requiring continuous work, like organizing FBANC’s social media accounts, emailing members, running our membership platform.

Co-chairs are responsible for planning and carrying out their committee’s events and programming, and leading their committee members.  Each committee will be given a budget to run their events/programming.
