Komunidad 7: Pathways and Pamayanan

Saturday, February 28, 2026

@ Gibson, Dunn, & Crutcher - One Embarcadero Center, Ste. 2600, San Francisco, CA 94111

Komunidad is a conference for Pilipinx American Law Students.

First convened in 2020, Komunidad is a conference that fosters the growth, engagement, and professional development of law students and those interested in law school. A joint event organized by FBANC and the Bay Area law schools, Komunidad seeks to strengthen pipelines to law school and the legal profession within the Filipino American community.

The theme for Komunidad 7 is “Pathways and Pamayanan.” Pamayanan is a Tagalog word that translates to “community” and “togetherness.” This year’s theme celebrates the fact that there is no one right way to become a lawyer, no one right way to be a lawyer, and no one right path thereafter. Yet we are all united in our shared journeys and experiences. The program explores different pathways within the legal field and includes a panel discussion, a keynote presentation, and interactive roundtable discussions with prominent FBANC attorneys and legal professionals.

Thank you to our sponsors and volunteers!

Komunidad is presented as a fully in-person event!!

  • Raniele Reyes (he/him) was raised in Kapolei, Hawaiʻi and moved to San Francisco to pursue his Juris Doctor at the University of San Francisco School of Law after graduating from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Filipino Language and Culture.
