We can each play a role in assisting our community know about their rights, benefits, and other resources. FBANC Board Members Mari Bandoma, Jenn Sta. Ana, Maria Segarra, Jorgio Castro, and Chriselle Raguro put together a resource guide that can assist you with directing those you know in the right direction

FBANC Teams Up with Asian Law Caucus to Help Workers Applying for State Benefits
Under the leadership of FBANC Vice President Jennifer Sta.Ana, FBANC is teaming up with Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Asian Law Caucus to create a program to assist workers in applying for benefits available through the Employment Development Department.
Through videoconferencing, the program will connect ALC, SOMCAN, the Bulosan Center, PAWIS-SV, and FBANC volunteers with workers to assist with navigating the various benefits that may be available.
FBANC needs volunteers.
Two types are needed at this time:
(1) Supervising Attorneys – Will assist ALC intake and processing volunteers with questions; and (2) Processing Volunteers – Will connect virtually with workers to complete benefits forms.

FBANC Annual Gala Postponed.
We regret to announce that the June 11 Annual Gala will be postponed. Although we hope that the pandemic will have subsided by then, fundraising and other activities will be undoubtedly disrupted in the lead up to June. We are planning on rescheduling for the fall.
FBANC Elections and Swearing-In Ceremony.
FBANC will still hold its elections for its new Board and will swear them in in a virtual ceremony in June. Although delayed, FBANC plans to open up its election portal next Wednesday, March 25.
FBANC Foundation Law Student Scholarship Awards.
Mentorship Directors Antonio Raimundo and Maria Segarra are continuing to move the FBANC Foundation’s scholarship programs forward, with law student applications being solicited and evaluated.
We understand the disruption this pandemic is causing for law students. In addition to awarding our annual scholarships, the FBANC Foundation is considering other ways to assist our law students during this time.
